As an extensive traveler of this beautiful blue planet, I highly recommend the retreat at Lake Atitlan for any seeker of a sacred container in which to grow, blossom, transform or dissolve in. I needed to feel safe as
I entered into my deepest Spiritual work…

Darlena gave me the sense that I was safe and never
alone. She was always tuned into me and my well-being.
She knew what my soul needed and time after time made

The
final days at her RETREAT… on Lake Atitlan were
glorious.. the place and the life. I am often on her
veranda looking out over this sacred lake……

“ The Earth’s
soul lives here”
The earth’s soul lives here
surrounded and nurtured by the Maya.
Here my soul opens and learns to live without fear.
My mission and purpose become crystal clear.
There never
was a thought or doubt in my mind
that Spirit has given me the perfect place
to go inward and unwind.
Getting quiet mentally and emotionally
is no easy task.
Doing it in this magical place made it easier to grasp.
The process
began both day and night
Darlena, my earth –bound guardian angel
keeping me from fright.
Beauty surrounds me and soften’s my gaze.
Spirits start appearing in new and fascinating ways.
My body is
tended with oils and massage...
each need anticipated before I even know
what my soul is yearning for from the
layers below.
The evenings
are spent in front of
my own mesquite fire
listening to the sounds of the villager below
singing and humming my deepest desires..
The temescal calls me..
I follow a candle light path
for a releasing and nourishing
Eucalyptus bath.
The Spirits
start speaking..
they know my every thought
They give me methods to free my soul
that for so long I have sought.
Every cell releases memories
long thought buried and dead.
But Spirit knows they influence
behavior and thoughts
swimming in my head.
Shame comes
to the surface,
nakedness reveled..
Quickly it is taken..
no longer in my body sealed.
It is pushed and shaken from my cells
by a marvelous masseuse
with breath and loving patience the wounds
are finally healed.. the denser energies set loose.
The lake Spirit
speaks to me from her nest in the teal deep.
She spirals up to greet me and my heart soars in disbelief.
I breathe in her essence and Turtle Mountains as well...
along with Reiki symbols and the rays of Grandfather
sun...
I am told there is no stronger energy for the healings
to be done.
I am nourished
from within and also from without..
from the food the Maya grow and pick
pure vibration sings throughout..
All created and served with love and joy
for the purpose of allowing my cells to dance and shout.
The Mayan Shaman and Elder
comes and lights the fire
the ritual to begin...
He asks the gods to free me..
I can feel a tingling in my skin.
The entire process lasts for 24 hours.
The dawn of the next day I have received my powers.
So now I have
discovered the
Maya Priestess within
Three red tail hawks follow me
shouting it is time to let your new life begin..
I dance and
celebrate through the day and night
appreciating the Spirits and Darlena’s
trusting her guides..
creating this precious space that
has cajoled me to come into the light...
